In addition to the TeamGenius mobile app, we also have a web evaluation tool that's accessible from your browser. This is a great option if you want to utilize your keyboard for recording comments and plan to do evaluations outside of a live event.
The web evaluation tool can be found at eval.teamgenius.com
Below is a quick video showing you how to navigate the web evaluation tool.

Accessing the Web Evaluation Tool
Go to eval.teamgenius.com in your web browser.
You will need to log in with your name, email and the access key you've been provided by the organization you're evaluating for. Optionally they may have sent you a link via email that can direct you to the TeamGenius web evaluation tool.
Enter your name (first and last preferred), email address and access key. Click Sign-In.
Selecting a Session
If the organization has multiple sessions open, select the one you will be scoring by clicking the Continue button for the session.
If there is only one session option, you will not need to make a selection.
Selecting Players to Score
You will now see a screen with players to select.
On the left side of the screen, you'll see filtering options such as Player Pools, Eval Groups and Positions. You can filter by these options by clicking the box next to the desired filter. You select multiple filters if needed.
Alternatively, you can use the Search box to find the player or players you wish to score.
Once you have your filters in place, ensure the players are selected. If they have a check mark to the left of their name, they are selected. This should happen automatically, but you do have the option to manually check or uncheck players as well.
Note: Sometimes you might only see the player's number if the organization is choosing to hide the player names.
Score Entry Options
Click on the green Start Scoring button to begin scoring your selected players.
You have 3 options to sort and score players.
- Score by Player - Within one player's scoring card, you can score them on all of the available criteria
- Score by Criterion - Within one criteria, you can score all of the selected players one criteria at a time
- Scoring Grid - Similar to a spreadsheet, you are able to input scores across players and criteria in a grid format
We'll go into detail about each of these options below.
Score by Player
You'll see the player's name at the top of the screen and to the left in your sorting view. This lets you know which player you are currently scoring.
The criteria to score on will be visible to the left under the player's name. Here you can see which criteria you have and have not yet scored. You can also click on the criteria to jump to that section in the player's scoring card.
The search bar allows you to navigate to a specific player.
You can choose to sort players by name (alphabetically by last name A-Z) or by number (descending order 1-X).
If you toggle on Hide Completed, once you've scored a player in all of the available criteria, it will hide them from your left side view.
If you toggle on Expand All, it will expand all of the scoring cards for each player so you can see what criteria you have or have not yet scored for each player.
Score by Criterion
If you prefer to score all of your players one criteria at a time, switch to Score by Criterion.
Here you'll see the criteria name at the top of the screen and to the left in your navigation menu.
The player to score on will be visible to the left under the criterion name. Here you can see which player you have and have not yet scored. You can also click on the player to jump to that section in the scoring card.

Score Grid View
The Scoring Grid view is similar to entering scores on a spreadsheet. You'll see the players to score in rows on the left side of the table, with the criteria to score on in columns along the top of the table.
Click into the scoring box you'd like to start with. You can either hit the Enter key to move to the next player, or click into another scoring box.
If there are more than one scoring form to score on, you can move between scoring forms on the left side of the page.
Note: You are not able to enter comments on individual criteria in the Scoring Grid view. You'll need to go click on Score by Player or Score by Criterion to input comments for criteria.
Scoring Players
TeamGenius has two different types of scoring forms - Subjective and Quantitative.
Below we'll go over how to submit scores on each type of form.
Subjective
Depending on how the organization structured the scoring form, you will see one of the three options below:
Slider Scale - Numerical scale with scoring increments predetermined by the organization. Simply type in the score via the text box or slide the button to the score you wish to assign to the player.
Drop Down List - Name values for you to assign as the player's score. Click on the arrow in the drop down box, then select the name value you wish to assign to the player.
Button Group - Name values for you to assign as the player's score. Click on the name value you wish to assign to the player.
Note: Scores save automatically once they've been recorded. If you update the score, the most recent version is saved. You'll notice a green check mark above the criteria name which notes the score has been saved.
Quantitative
With quantitative scoring, you are able to enter a specific metric number for a player. This could be time, distance, or even the number of times a player successfully completes a skill.
With a timed test, enter a score manually by typing into the score box on the left or by using the stopwatch function. Click the green Play button to start the stopwatch.
Click on the red Pause button to stop the clock. Click the green check mark to save the score. The Refresh button will start the stopwatch over again at 0.
To record a distance or measurement, make your selection via the drop down menu. The increments have been preset by the association you are scoring for.
To record repetitions enter in the score by typing in the number in the Score box.
Recording Comments for Players
You have the option to record a comment for any scored criteria.
Simply click into the Comment box and start typing to record a comment. Once you click out of the comment box, the comment will be saved to the scored criteria. This is notated by a green check mark to the left of the criteria name.
Note: You do need to record a score in addition to the comment if you want the comment to display on reports. This is very important if the players/parents will receive a report of the feedback and scores you are recording.
Sometimes the organization has created comment snippets for you to select from. If you see a box labeled Snippets next to the Comments box, you can click here to see pre-set comments for you to use. Click on the comment you'd like to record, then it will appear in the comment box automatically.
Moving between the Web Evaluation Tool and the Mobile App
If you plan to utilize the mobile app along with the web evaluation tool, it's important to ensure you are using the same name and email when accessing the scoring platforms. The system will recognize you are the same evaluator if the email address matches and will populate any scores you've made in one platform on the other.
For example, if you record scores using the mobile app, you can open up the web evaluation tool on your computer browser to go back in and record comments for each scored criteria.
